About this product
Milka Alpine milk chocolate with small pieces of chopped hazelnut throughout, for a gentle crunch in every square.
Milka Hazelnuts is a milk chocolate bar studded with chopped hazelnuts. In Germany it is sold as Milka Haselnuss, and the label describes it as Alpine milk chocolate with hazelnut pieces (Haselnussstückchen).
Hazelnut pieces make up 9% of the bar, and a small amount of hazelnut paste is also blended into the chocolate. The Alpine milk chocolate contains at least 33% cocoa. It is made in Germany by Mondelez International, which owns the Milka brand. Malincho sells it in the USA as an independent retailer.
Taste and serving ideas
How it tastes
You get the mild, milky sweetness of classic Milka with little bits of hazelnut that add texture and a nutty flavor. The pieces are small, so the bar is easy to snap and the crunch is light rather than chunky.
Hazelnuts vs. Milka Noisette
These two bars are often confused. Milka Hazelnuts has chopped hazelnut pieces you can see on the broken edge and feel as you chew. Milka Noisette has no pieces at all: its hazelnuts are ground into a paste and blended in, so it is completely smooth.
If you like a little bite and real nut pieces, choose Hazelnuts. If you prefer a creamy, even hazelnut flavor, choose Noisette.
Ways to enjoy it
It is an easy snack on its own or with coffee or tea. In the kitchen, chop it into cookie or brownie batter, where the nut pieces keep some crunch after baking, or shave it over vanilla ice cream or yogurt.
