About this product
Milka's Alpine milk chocolate, whipped full of tiny air pockets so each square feels light and melts in moments.
Milka Bubbly Milk is an aerated chocolate bar: the chocolate is filled with small bubbles before it sets, so the whole tablet is lighter than a solid bar of the same size. In Germany this bar is sold as Milka Luflée Alpenmilch, and in other European countries the wrapper reads Milka Bubbly Alpine Milk.
The chocolate itself is Milka's familiar Alpine milk recipe, with at least 33% cocoa solids and a touch of hazelnut paste. Each 90g bar breaks into four large sections.
It is made in Germany by Mondelez International, the company behind Milka. Malincho sells it in the USA as an independent retailer.
Taste and serving ideas
How it tastes
The flavor is classic Milka: sweet, milky and mild, with no bitter edge. The difference is the bite. The bubbles make it crisp at first and then it softens almost right away, so the chocolate seems to dissolve rather than chew.
Because there is less chocolate in every mouthful, many people find it easier to enjoy a single square slowly.
Ways to enjoy it
Let a piece sit on your tongue and melt, or have it with coffee, tea or hot cocoa. It is also a good pick for a movie night or an afternoon snack when a dense bar feels too heavy.
Try breaking it over a bowl of ice cream. The bubbles give a nice crunch against the cold.
What makes it different
Most Milka tablets are solid. This one is aerated all the way through, which changes the texture without changing the recipe much. If you like the idea of bubbles but want something sweeter, the Bubbly White bar pairs a milk chocolate shell with an aerated white chocolate center.

How many calories are in a serving?
About 122 calories per quarter-bar (22.5g) serving, based on the European label.
Is it gluten free?
Gluten is not an ingredient, but the label warns it may contain wheat, so it is not suitable for anyone who must avoid gluten.
