About this product

Milka meets Chips Ahoy! in one 100g bar: Alpine milk chocolate with a soft milk cream filling and crunchy bits of chocolate chip cookie.

This bar brings together two brands from the same family. Milka supplies the Alpine milk chocolate shell, and Chips Ahoy! supplies small pieces of its chocolate chip cookie, which make up about 12% of the bar.

Inside each square there is a layer of milky cream filling, with the cookie crumbs mixed into it. So you get a chocolate outside, a soft middle and little crunchy bits all in one bite.

It is made in Germany by Mondelez International, which owns both Milka and Chips Ahoy!. Malincho sells it in the USA as an independent retailer.

Taste and serving ideas

How it tastes

The first thing you notice is the sweet, mellow Milka chocolate. Then the cream filling softens everything, and the cookie pieces add a buttery, slightly salty crunch, a bit like dunking a chocolate chip cookie in milk.

It is on the sweet side, so most people find two or three squares plenty.

Ways to enjoy it

Break off a few squares with a cold glass of milk or an afternoon coffee. It also makes a fun swap for a regular candy bar in a movie-night snack bowl.

Fans of both brands will like it as a small gift or stocking stuffer, and it fits nicely into a care package of European sweets.

What makes it different

Most Milka bars with biscuit use a plain or cocoa biscuit. This one uses actual Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces, so the crunchy bits have that familiar chocolate chip cookie flavor.

Compared with Milka's Oreo bar, the filling here is plain milk cream rather than vanilla, which keeps the focus on the cookie and the chocolate.

Try this: chill the bar for ten minutes before serving on a hot day. The cream filling firms up and the cookie pieces stay extra crunchy.
