About this product

The family-size Milka whole hazelnut bar: a thick 250g slab of Alpine milk chocolate filled with whole hazelnuts, made for sharing.

This is the large-format version of Milka's whole hazelnut bar. In Europe it is sold as Milka MMMAX Ganze Haselnüsse. MMMAX is Milka's name for its extra-large bars, and ganze Haselnüsse means "whole hazelnuts."

Whole hazelnuts make up 17% of the bar. They sit in Milka's Alpine milk chocolate, with a little hazelnut paste blended into the chocolate for extra nutty flavor. There is no cream or caramel filling.

The bar is made for Mondelez International, the owner of the Milka brand. Malincho sells it in the USA as an independent retailer.

Taste and serving ideas

How it tastes

The chocolate is mild, sweet and milky, and it melts smoothly. The hazelnuts are crunchy and toasty, which keeps the sweetness in check.

Because the bar is thicker than a standard tablet, each piece has a satisfying, chunky bite with a whole nut in most squares.

Ways to enjoy it

At 250g, it holds about nine servings, so it suits family movie nights, office treats and holiday tables. Break it into rows and pass it around with coffee after dinner.

Bakers can chop it into large chunks for brownies, cookies or banana bread. The whole nuts stay intact and give each slice real crunch.

How it compares to the smaller Whole Nuts bar

Milka also makes a smaller 95g Whole Nuts tablet. The 250g MMMAX bar is more than twice the weight and noticeably thicker. Its recipe lists 17% hazelnuts, while the smaller bar lists 20%, so the big bar has a bit more chocolate between the nuts.

Sharing tip: score the bar with a warm knife before breaking it. Thick bars with whole nuts split more evenly that way.
