About this product
The classic Milka Advent calendar: 24 little doors, each hiding a piece of Alpine milk chocolate with a creamy milk filling, to count down the days to Christmas.
Adventskalender is German for Advent calendar. Milka's version is a flat cardboard calendar with 24 numbered doors and 200g of chocolate in total. Behind each door is one small Milka chocolate, made from Alpine milk chocolate with a milk cream center. The filling makes up about 39% of the chocolate.
Advent calendars are a big part of Christmas in Germany and much of Central and Eastern Europe. Children open one door each morning from December 1 to December 24. The festive artwork on the front changes from year to year.
It is made by Mondelez International, the company behind Milka. Malincho sells it in the USA as an independent retailer.
Taste and serving ideas
How it tastes
Each piece is soft and very milky. The thin shell of Alpine milk chocolate gives way to a smooth, sweet milk cream inside. The pieces are small, so it is a gentle daily treat rather than a big serving of chocolate.
Ways to enjoy it
Hang it in a child's room or by the kitchen table and make opening the door part of the morning routine. Many families give one calendar per child so nobody has to share a door.
It also makes a thoughtful gift for a friend, a teacher or a coworker in late November, and a nice touch for anyone who grew up with a European Christmas. Pair it with Milka Santas for Saint Nicholas Day on December 6.
What makes it different
Milka sells several Advent calendars. This one is the simple, classic design with filled milk chocolate pieces only. Other versions mix in bars, figures or cookies, or use Milka's darker Darkmilk chocolate.
